Grovey Succumbs To COVID-19

Legendary St. Anthony's College football coach Nigel Grovesnor has passed away after a battle with COVID-19. Grovesnor and his wife were hospitalised in August after contracting the virus. His wife recovered and was discharged two weeks ago, but Grovesnor, who also had pre-existing conditions, succumbed to the disease. Better known as "Grovey," the former National Youth Coach won several college football titles with the "Westmoorings Tigers" while shaping St. Anthony's College into the dominant school team of the early 2000s. Several of his players went on to make their mark at international level, most notably Kenwyne Jones, Carlos Edwards, and Evans Wise, who played at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Grovesnor also coached Queen's Royal College for three seasons before hanging up his coaching boots last year.
