Permission to hike to Mt. Tabor is being denied at this time.
Over the weekend, officials at the Mt. St. Benedict Monastery erected a sign, stating that organised tours are strictly prohibited on its property.
Head of the Monastery, Abbot John Pereira, says the move follows a significant increase in hiking activity, which has unsettled the normal religious ambience at the church.
