Contrary to reports circulating on social media, a monkey did not escape from the Emperor Valley Zoo. Curator of the Zoo, Nirmal Biptah, said all of the zoo's animals are accounted for. He told TTT News that a member of the public brought a Venezuelan Capuchin to the zoo on Thursday night, however no one was on hand to receive the primate, as the zoo was closed, and the individual released the animal in the public domain. The Zoo has since captured the monkey, which was found on the roof of the Ministry of Foreign and Caricom Affairs' building.
