CMO Among Four Nationals To Receive Honorary Degrees From UWI

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Roshan Parasram has been named one of four Trinidad and Tobago Nationals to receive Honorary Degrees from the University of the West Indies. Dr. Parasram has been at the forefront, leading this country's team of medical professionals as they battle the COVID-19 Pandemic. He will receive an Honorary Doctor of Science (DSc) from the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine campus. Musician and Educator Ray Anthony Holman (Doctor of Letters), Entrepreneur and Philanthropist Sieunarine Persad Coosal (Doctor of Laws), and Attorney Lynette Seebaran-Suite (Doctor of Laws) are the other TT Nationals receiving Honorary Degrees. In a statement, UWI said nominations from across its five campuses were approved by the University Council on April 30th, 2021. UWI will present Honorary Degrees to the 14 eminent persons at its 2021 graduation ceremonies. Trinidad and Tobago's ceremonies will take place on October 28th, 29th and 30th. These 2021 graduands will join a list of over 450 Honorary Degree recipients conferred by the regional University since 1965.
