Media Conference Hosted By Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley - Thursday 21st October 2021

Prime Minister Rowley said the behaviour of the Opposition, particularly those in the Senate, in the Parliament during today’s Motion to remove the President, was nothing short of “disgraceful and reprehensible.” He said it was a very unpleasant experience but it should be an eye opener for citizens as it relates to the Government and what passes for the Opposition. He said based on the Opposition's Motion, today's proceedings should have been directed towards him as Prime Minister (as a Motion of No Confidence) and should not have been a Motion to remove the President. PM notes there are 6 Service Commissions in the country (JLSC, Teaching, Prison, Fire, PolSC, Civil).He said he's been PM for 6 years and asks, apart from the recent PolSc matter, if there was any single instance where he voiced concern with anyone at the 5 other Commissions. PM Rowley said his Government does not interfere in Service Commissions. The Government does not direct the President, or interfere in the Judiciary.
