Safety Officer Accosted At Belmont Secondary

Education Minister Dr. Nyan Gadsby-Dolly is assuring that there is a partnership with police to stop any criminal activity in and around the Belmont Secondary School. Her statement comes after the accosting of a School Safety Officer at the School by ‘adult males’, at least one of who was armed. Responding to a question in the Parliament, the Minister said there are issues to be dealt with at that particular school, but assured that systems are in place to do so. She assured though that this incident on Friday did not hamper the school’s response to be evacuated after receiving the bomb threat.
