CWI Names Squad For ICC World Cup Qualifiers, UAE ODI Series

Keemo Paul and Gudakesh Motie have earned recalls to the West Indies ODI team ahead of the regional side's appearance in the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 Qualifiers. The 15-man squad has been named alongside another that will play a three-match ODI Series against the UAE in Sharjah ahead of the Qualifiers. Shai Hope will captain both sides with Rovman Powell as his deputy. T&T's Nicholas Pooran, Yannic Cariah and Akeal Hosein are also included. The Sharjah team includes uncapped allrounders Akeem Jordan, Dominic Drakes, and Kavem Hodge as well as left-handed batter Alick Athanaze. According to Lead Selector Desmond Haynes, the UAE matches will be a shop window for the players involved who were not selected for the Qualifiers in Zimbabwe from June 18th.
