Youth Aquaculture Project

The Youth Aquaculture Project is a social intervention by the Ministry of Youth Development and National Service ( MYDNS). Technical Coordinator of Project Management at the Ministry, Raemona Braithwaite, said the one-year full time training programme equips trainees with theoretical and practical knowledge to manage their own farming enterprises. Ms. Braithwaite said in the second cohort they partnered with the Ministries of Agriculture Land and Fisheries and Education to establish the Youth Aquaculture Cooperatives at the aquaculture facilities in Bamboo, Waterloo, and Longdenville.
