History was made when today's fixture between the United States and Ireland at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

With one point given for the no result, the USA now have an unassailable five points, having beaten Canada and Pakistan earlier in the tournament, meaning that they become the sixth team to qualify for the Super 8 stage of the World Cup.
