Crime Round-Up: Man In Court For Brother's Murder, Wallerfield Man Charged For Pensioner's Murder

Thirty six year old Kyle Garcia appeared before the High Court on Friday, charged for the murder of his brother in December 2023. According to police reports, 38 year old Kerry Garcia was found dead close to his Cushe Village, Biche home on December 28th, 2023. His brother, Kyle, was subsequently charged on February 12th, 2024 following advice received from the Director of Public Prosecutions. He was also charged for the possession of a firearm and ammunition. The matter was adjourned to June 20th. In another matter, a 27 year old man appeared before the High Court on Friday after being charged with the murder of retired school teacher, Hyacinth Gardener. According to police reports, Sherwayne Wiliams, of Wallerfield, was charged with the offence when he appeared before Master Sara De Silva. Ms. Gardener, 73, was found dead at her Pinto Road, Arima home on Monday February 5th, 2024. Williams was subsequently arrested and appeared before the court a week later. The matter was adjourned to July 5th, 2024.
