70% Of Tobago Teachers Receive Backpay

The Tobago Division of the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers Association is pleased with the level of communication being provided by the THA Division of Education, Research and Technology regarding backpay for teachers. Speaking with the media outside the Division on Monday, TTUTA Tobago Bradon Roberts informed though the initial deadline was not met, 70%of Tobago’s teachers have received their back pay. However, Mr. Roberts stressed TTUTA is holding the Division to its extended deadline given for the remaining teachers to receive their back pay. The Education Division gave a December 31st, 2023 deadline for the disbursement of teachers' backpay but this was not achieved. Following a call from TTUTA, Mr. Roberts noted the Division has been providing regular information.
