RBC Bank Says Duplicate Credit Card Transactions Isn't Fraud But Technical Issue

RBC Bank says it is aware of transactions at specific business establishments on their clients' credit cards. RBC says this situation is not a result of fraud but rather from a technical issue with the businesses’ processing bank over a certain period. RBC notes in the process of reversing the transactions, clients may have received less funds than initially charged. The Bank says it is currently proactively working with the processing bank with a view to fully correct the initial transactions processed and this may lead to multiple entries appearing on the client's account. PriceSmart confirms that transactions that affected its Members' credit card accounts was due to a technical issue in processing and notes this has affected multiple banks and merchants outside PriceSmart’s control in Trinidad and Tobago. PriceSmart says they  are collaborating with the banks to ensure their Member’s concerns are addressed. It is assuring that any Member who has a discrepancy on their account resulting in an overcharge will be reimbursed for the difference in charges.
