KEY POINTS RAISED AT TODAY'S MINISTRY OF HEALTH PRESS BRIEFING: Chief Medical Officer Dr. Roshan Parasram stays mum on confirming whether Crime Watch Host Ian Alleyne is COVID-19 Positive, as was stated in a video last night. Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh says patient confidentiality remains supreme in every instant. He urges citizens who suspect they came into contact with any COVID-19 patient to use the COVID-19 Hotline (877-WELL) in a responsible manner. National Security Minister urges recently-returned passengers to be responsible and self quarantine for 14 days, instead of going into society and possibly infecting citizens. Chief Medical Officer Dr. Roshan Parasram says the Quarantine Act will be enforced on those citizens who refused to stay in isolation. MOH COVID-19 Update For March 25th 2020: Samples Submitted For Testing: 370 Positive Samples: 60 (44 are cruise ship passengers) Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh urges citizens who recently travelled to stay in isolation. Citizens also urged to practice social distancing by staying three to six feet away from the nearest person. One million N-95 Masks soon to be available as part of T&T's COVID-19 Response. There is adequate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) available for our health sector. Police are actively monitoring the 20,000 persons who returned home in the last two weeks. Citizens outside of T&T who were unable to make their way home before the borders closed are asked to hunker down, take shelter and contact the nearest TT Embassy/Mission for assistance. Social Development Minister Camille Robinson-Regis assures that Government is working to protect all citizens, especially the most vulnerable in society.
