No Ammonia Plants Closed

Minister of National Security, Stuart Young, says no ammonia plant has been closed, but in fact, one ammonia plant is in an idle state. Minister Young made the clarification as he responded to a question posed by an Opposition Senator on Wednesday. Minister Young also said to his understanding, there is no shortage of Urea. On Tuesday, ammonia producer Nutrien Limited issued an assurance that workers will not be affected by a decision to what it called temporarily shut down one of its plants in Point Lisas.
