Make Books Available For The Blind

Making books available to the blind is a goal high on the agenda of the Blind Welfare Association. President of the organization, Kenneth Suratt, says a firm step to achieving this will come tomorrow when the Parliament debates an amendment to the copyright law. He says accessibility to the print material is essential for the print disabled and blind. He is pleased that over 100 countries have ratified the particular copyright amendment and he is asking that Trinidad and Tobago follow suit. Mr. Suratt makes it clear that education is the primary way that blind people can be weaned off a life of making baskets. He says this law will open up choices for them for a better life and asks that both Government and Opposition support it.
