Jason Williams Takes Oath As Senator

Newly-appointed Senator, Jason Williams, took his oath in the Upper House on Tuesday morning. Mr. Williams replaces Robert Le Hunte in the Senate. Mr. Le Hunte's appointment was revoked after he resigned as Minister of Public Utilities. Meanwhile, the National Youth League of the People's National Movement has extended best wishes to Mr. Williams on his appointment to the Senate. In a release, the members of the Youth League said the 41-year-old Williams is highly respected and known for his courageous contributions in the creative, entertainment and broadcast industries, and has inspired many during his career. Referring to Senator Williams as an ambassador for young people, the PNM Youth League welcomed and called on him to dismiss the clamouring of political nay-sayers. The Youth League has also extended its full support to Mr. Williams.
