Virtual Celebration Of Pan Africanism

The Director of the Emancipation Support Committee says this year's commemoration of Pan Africanism on May 25th is intended to be a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the movement. Speaking on the NOW Morning Programme, Director of the Pan African Affairs of the Committee, Khafra Kambon, said that in 1970, the re-emergence of the Emancipation movement was a key part of the continued development of African people in Trinidad and Tobago. Mr. Kambon said that the relationship between Africa and the Caribbean has seen deep linkages grow and develop. Mr. Kambon also said that the Pan African celebration will be virtual but he believes that their plans will not be stymied by the distances between participants on the internet programme.
