SPORT: Wallace Writes FIFA Again

As if leaving no stone unturned, the beleaguered TTFA President William Wallace tried for a third time to engage FIFA on the issue of mediation and to broker a deal on the way forward for local football. After two previous letters garnered no response from FIFA, Wallace made what many believe could be one last roll of the dice to seek an amicable settlement out of court on their ongoing battle over who has control of local football. FIFA implemented a Normalization Committee on March 17th, effectively sidelining the duly elected Executive of the TTFA -a move Wallace and his supporters deemed unwarranted and heavy-handed. The two sides have been battling for control ever since, with the TTFA taking the matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport for venting. But they subsequently withdrew their approach and instead sought to have the matter litigated in the local High Court. FIFA recently signed on to the fight by appointing local Queen's Counsel, Dr. Claude Denbow, to do the work on its behalf locally, stepping up its game as if preparing for a tough fight.
