For the second time in as many weeks, the Housing Development Corporation has distributed allocation packages for homes in South Trinidad during a Virtual Ceremony. This morning’s beneficiaries were presented with packages for homes at Pleasantville, Harmony Hall, and Riverside, Corinth - all in the Constituency of San Fernando East. MP Randall Mitchell, a former Minister of Housing, noted that some 100 families can be accommodated at Harmony Hall. He made special reference to the Building 17 Pleasantville site, which had been destroyed by fire. He said Building 17, with all its amenities, stands as tangible proof of what the HDC could do. In the ceremony, which followed social distancing guidelines, 38 packages were distributed but Housing Minster Edmund Dillon assured that this is just a fraction of the allocations. Minister Dillon said some 3,000 homes have been distributed between 2015 and 2020.
