Tobagonians To Receive Rental Assistance Grants This Week

The Tobago House of Assembly will begin paying Rental Assistance Grants later this week to people who had their income affected by COVID-19 restrictions. Assistant Secretary of Health, Wellness and Family Development, Nadine Stewart-Phillips, says the THA's verification teams have been on the ground meeting landlords, and the process is almost complete. There has been a slowdown in the processing of COVID-19 Relief Grants as the Government has found that many applicants were not truthful. Ms. Stewart-Phillips is asking that people refrain from bringing politics into the fray. She says politicians are not processing the Grants, rather public servants have been going beyond the call of duty to do so.
