Sale Of Exotic Fish Soar

While some businesses are struggling to recover after the COVID-19 lockdown, the sale of exotic fish as pets is booming. Mausica-based Chai's Exotics is a pioneering firm in the sale of ornamental fish locally. The company morphed from a poultry farm to an exotic fish farm in 1987, and it now exports to the Caribbean and other parts of the world. Managing Director Donna Chai told TTT News the COVID-19 pandemic forced the firm to close for five weeks. Before and after the lockdown, however, pet sales surged, as people rushed in to buy up goldfish, coy and other fish as pets.
