More Cruise Ship Workers Return Home

Trinidad and Tobago Nationals who were stranded on board the Carnival Fantasy cruise ship finally got home on Thursday afternoon. The ship was anchored offshore near the Port in Port of Spain for several hours to allow arrangements to be made to receive the Nationals. Late on Thursday evening, the 29 TT citizens were allowed to disembark at the Cruise Ship Complex, A smaller vessel made several trips to and from the cruise ship, bringing the TT nationals to shore. Three large buses, an ambulance, and police escort took them from the Cruise Ship Complex to their quarantine location where they will all be tested for COVID-19. As the convoy left the dock, one passenger could be seen flying a T&T flag out of the window of the bus. The crew members had been unable to return to Trinidad and Tobago as borders have been closed since March 23rd to curb the spread of COVID-19.
