A Bridge For Grande Gully

Residents of Grande Gully, Goodwood, Tobago will no longer have to trek through flood waters when the river bursts its banks during the Rainy Season. On Tuesday, the Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and the Environment, the Tobago House of Assembly, and the National Commission for Self Help signed a Memorandum of Understanding to formalise the construction of a prefabricated single lane bridge. Residents in the area currently make their journey across a 12-inch slab to get to and from Grande Gully. MP for Tobago East, Ayanna Webster-Roy has been lobbying for the construction of the bridge since 2016, after hearing the plight of a resident in the area. Secretary of the Division, Councillor Kwesi Des Vignes, said the collaboration with Self Help for the construction of the bridge is just part of the commitment to meet the needs of the people of Tobago.
