Medics Protest At EWMSC

A large number of employees attached to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex stopped work on Friday morning to protest for monies they claim are owed to them for an extended period of time. The event was carried live on the Public Services Association's Trinbago Facebook page with a caption which said doctors and nurses at the hospital down their tools as they feel hopeless. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the PSA is unhappy with Government's decision to offer the nation's teachers a stipend which, according to the Minister of Education, is at a cost of $20 million while the doctors and nurses are getting nothing. Calls to President of the Public Services Association, Watson Duke, for comment on the issue, went unanswered.
