TTPS: Police Not Involved In Carapo Murder

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) says the killing of Roger Cabie in Carapo on Monday evening did not involve the police. Sharing official reports in a media release, the TTPS said police responded to a report of loud explosions at Simon Road, Carapo, around 6:30pm on June 15th. On arrival, officers discovered the body of a man lying on his back in the middle of a roadway off Simon Road, with what appeared to be gunshot wounds about the body. First responders cordoned off the area and awaited the arrival of investigators. The DMO later visited the scene, viewed the body, and pronounced the person dead. He was later identified as 42 year old Roger Cabie of Carapo. The TTPS is refuting media reports that Cabie was killed by its officers. Northern Division Police and the Homicide Bureau have said Cabie was a victim of gang warfare.
