Heritage Increases Security

Heritage Petroleum Company Limited plans to step up its security measures after several of its 3-inch gas lines were cut in Barrackpore on Friday. Responding to a question in the Senate on Monday, Minister of Energy and Energy Industries, Franklin Khan, said incidents like these in the South Western Peninsula have been a perennial problem over the years. He said the incident was a dangerous exercise and the perpetrators were lucky that the lines were dormant. In a statement on Sunday, Heritage said several of its 3-inch gas lines were found to be cut following a report of sabotage near the Gathering Station No.3 in Barrackpore around 10:15am on Friday.
