Olympic Day Messages

Among those sending a very special Olympic Day message on Tuesday was Sports Minister Shamfa Cudjoe, who was keen to help commemorate the special day. The Minister recognised the efforts of the Olympic Movement to build peace through the education of young people, while trying to eliminate discrimination by ensuring gender equality and mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play. Brian Lewis, the President of CANOC, in his address, pointed to the many challenges the COVID-19 pandemic heaped on sport, with the Olympic Games having to be postponed for the first time in its history. Normally, Olympic Day is commemorated with a number of sporting displays under the Olympic umbrella, with several youngsters getting first hand exposure to some of the best in the various disciplines.
