Chicks For Chaguanas East

Families in the Chaguanas East constituency were given a head start in becoming self sufficient by their Member of Parliament, Fazal Karim. MP Karim distributed 600 chicks and a supply of feed to 100 households as part of his 'Eat What You Grow' initiative. During the COVID-19 pandemic, MP Karim distributed seeds, seedlings, tilapia and chicks. He said the pandemic has been a difficult time as many individuals visit his office on a daily basis seeking assistance. MP Karim said hunger is something no one should struggle with and this is why he has created an environment for innovation. One of the recipients believes the initiative is also a great tool to teach children poultry farming.
