The murder rate now stands at 233 following the shooting of a man on Thursday night.
According to reports, 30 year old Dwayne Wright was standing at Gibbs Trace in Claxton Bay when he was shot several times by a man who then got into a silver Toyota Fielder wagon and drove off.
Wright, also known as Reddo, died on the spot.
The incident occurred some time after 7pm.
Police reports stated that Wright was arrested last Sunday for the possession of camouflage pants. He appeared in court on Monday and was granted bail.
