Jearlean John Gets UNC's Nod For La Horquetta Talparo

The United National Congress (UNC) has selected Jearlean John as its General Election candidate for La Horquetta/Talparo. This was announced during the UNC's Virtual Meeting, 'On the Ballot,' on Thursday night. Ms. John, who is also a Deputy Political Leader of the UNC, will run against the People's National Movement's (PNM) candidate, Foster Cummings. She was a former Minister of Transport under the Basdeo Panday administration and a former Managing Director of the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) under the People's Partnership administration.
