Funds For TTFA

Funds for the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) are now due as FIFA announced on Thursday that it had agreed to a $1.5 billion relief plan to help deal with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the global game, including in T&T. But there is still much uncertainty over if and when the money will be released to the TTFA which has taken FIFA to the High Court, objecting to the imposition of a Normalization Committee to run the day to day operations of local football. The outcome of that case could well clear up a number of factors in the sport locally, including who has access to the TTFA accounts at First Citizens Bank, which has denied both groups access to date. The TTFA can access funds under the FIFA 'Forward' projects, along with the new Universal Solidarity Grant of $1 million, plus another $500,000 specifically for women's football, and has access to interest free loans of up to $5 million.
