Rotary Club Of Maraval Donates To Women's Prison

The Rotary Club of Maraval is lending assistance to inmates at the Women's Prison. Acting Commissioner of Prisons, Dennis Pulchan, received a courtesy call from President of the Rotary Club of Maraval, Giselle Holder, and other administrative members of the Club at the Prisons Administration Building in Port of Spain this week. A major focus was the Women's Prison and what can be done to support and meet the demands of the incarcerated females. The Rotary Club of Maraval has played a major supporting role over the years to the females in offering free eye testing and eye wear. Ms. Holder confirmed that through various sponsorships from the People's Bridge and Smith Robertson & Company Limited, the Club was able to secure a substantial amount of toiletries inclusive of sanitary napkins, deodorant sticks, toothbrushes and toothpaste for use in the female prison. Commissioner Pulchan thanked Ms. Holder and stressed that the donation is most appreciated, especially during these challenging economic times.
