Former Petrotrin Workers Happy With Land Distribution

On Wednesday, the Government launched the Petrotrin Land Distribution Programme in Palo Seco, where 1,000 lots are being made available for former Petrotrin workers to build homes. This arrangement is part of the package the former workers will get from the restructuring of Petrotrin that resulted in the retrenchment of the workers. Ronald Prince, one such ex-Petrotrin employee, shared his feelings at the launch. Mr. Prince had been employed with Petrotrin for 34 years before being retrenched. He shared his sentiments about the restart of the refinery under the ownership of the Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union.
