Multi-Storey Car Park For San Fernando

Parking relief soon for the people of South Trinidad and for those who venture to the Southern city to conduct business. This, as the Urban Development Corporation of Trinidad and Tobago (UDeCOTT) signed for, and received the deed for the San Fernando Waterfront Car Park on Tuesday. The land on which the car park will be constructed belongs to the South West Regional Health Authority, and has been leased to UDeCOTT for 199 years. The eight-storey facility will provide a large number of parking spaces, which will also include designated spots for the differently-abled. TTT News was told that the car park has been estimated to cost $118 million. During Tuesday's Lease Signing Ceremony, UDeCOTT's Deputy Chair, Jacqueline Ganteaume- Farrell, said she expects the facility will bring an end to parking woes in San Fernando. Meanwhile, SWRHA Chair, Valerie Alleyne-Rawlins, applauded the initiative and added that the facility will aid in further developing the Southern region. Work on the San Fernando Waterfront Car Park is expected to be completed by April 4th, 2022.
