12 Illegal Immigrants Held

Twelve illegal immigrants who were intercepted by officers of the South Western Division yesterday have been handed over to the Immigration Division at the Chaguaramas Heliport. The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service says the illegal immigrants were medically examined and are being quarantined before being deported to their homeland. On Tuesday, officers responded to reports of a vessel conveying illegal immigrants and, on approaching Beach Road in Palo Seco, intercepted in a vehicle in which they discovered ten illegal immigrants. Two additional illegal immigrants were discovered being transported along SS Erin Road, Santa Flora.
