Mayaro Sport Woes

Former Pro League player, Ryan ‘Fries’ Stewart, is "upset and frustrated" over the dilapidated facilities for football in Mayaro. The Mayaro Recreation Ground is the hub of sporting activity in the community. Stewart, a former Caledonia AIA midfielder, told TTT News that the community field is lacking basic infrastructure for the sport to progress. Two players from the Mayaro area, Anthony Wolfe and Collin Samuel, were on the Soca Warriors team at the 2006 World Cup. Stewart says Mayaro can produce more players of international quality if the facilities are improved.
