The recount of ballots in the constituency of St. Joseph is now complete.
This, according to the Public Relations Office of the People's National Movement, Laurel Lezama-Lee sing. Mrs. Lee-Sing says the unofficial final tally of votes is PNM 9,363 - UNC 8,539 - a difference of 824 votes.
The preliminary results by the Elections and Boundaries Commission put the PNM at 9,354 and the UNC at 8,543 - a difference of 811 votes.
The United National Congress had requested recounts in five constituencies - San Fernando West, La Horquetta/Talparo, Tunapuna, St. Joseph and Toco/Sangre Grande - following the August 10th General Election.
All the recounts have now been completed with no change to the status quo, the PNM being victorious 22 seats to 19 seats for the UNC.
The official results will be issued by the Elections and Boundaries Commission.
