PM Rowley Hosts First Meeting Of New Cabinet

Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley's self-quarantine has ended and today, the Prime Minister hosted the first Cabinet meeting of his new Government at the Diplomatic Centre in St. Ann's. The 22 Cabinet Ministers gathered for their first weekly meeting seventeen days after the People's National Movement emerged the winner of the 2020 General Election on August 10th. The Ministers were sworn into office last Friday by President Paula-Mae Weekes during a brief ceremony at President's House. The Prime Minister's Cabinet includes familiar faces as a few Ministers from the previous administration retained their portfolios. Among them are Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh, Minister of Agriculture Land and Fisheries, Clarence Rambharat, Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi, Minister of Energy and Energy Affairs, Franklin Khan, and Leader of Government Business, Camille Robinson-Regis. Among some of the new faces in the Cabinet are Labour Minister Stephen Mc Clashie, Minister with Responsibility for Communications, Symon De Nobriga, and Minister of Public Utilities, Marvin Gonzales. There was no Post Cabinet Media Briefing after today's meeting.
