TTFA Denies Blocking Coaches From Entering Office

The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) wishes to place on record that it did not block any of the coaches, or members of the National Team's coaching staff from entering the TTFA's offices on Tuesday August 25th. Several National Team coaches who have not been paid for their services in months were keen to hand deliver their contracts to the FIFA-implemented Normalization Committee in order to have them vetted so that payment could be arranged. But they were initially prevented from entering the compound to get to the TTFA's Head Office at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva. Eventually a small group was allowed in. Now, the TTFA says it wasn't their fault the coaches were denied entry at first, and pointed to the fact that the Ato Boldon Stadium is part of a larger compound that houses one of the Step Down facilities used by the Ministry of Health, and managed by SPORT-TT. The TTFA says it remains open to discuss why staffers are not being paid, adding that it continues to work assiduously on fixing the many problems of the organisation, including the still burgeoning debts of the organisation which has grown even more since the start of the year.
