The killing of a mother of four has pushed the murder figure to 297.
Police reports say sometime after 6am today, Shereen Huggins of Dan Kelly, Laventille was attacked with a cutlass during a domestic dispute.
The 29 year old woman died after she was chopped several times about the body.
The incident is to said to have taken place in front of her four children. The attacker is also reported to have fled the scene.
