The CEPEP Company Limited has stated its intent to serve a pre action protocol letter to the T&T Guardian for articles it claims brings the company into disrepute. The action filed by their law firm of Hove and Associates alleges that the Sunday Guardian newspaper engaged in defamation of character, malicious falsehoods, breach of confidentiality and misuse of images of Keith Eddie and Nicole Gopaulsingh. The law firm says the use of the photographs was intended, in the opinion of the CEPEP Company, to cause extensive damages to their image and good name. They now say they will issue a pre action protocol letter by September 8th. They are asking the Guardian to remove the articles entitled “Money flowing at CEPEP” and “CEPEP Money Scandal” from their online circulation.
