Man Killed After Shooting At Police

A man was fatally wounded after shooting at police officers in the Tunapuna district on Friday morning. At around 12:03am, five officers were conducting an exercise near Madoo Hill when they observed two men both armed with pistols. The party of officers ordered the men to drop their firearms. The two men then pointed their firearms in the direction of the officers and there was an exchange of gunfire. One of the men fell to the ground and the other man escaped in the nearby bushes. The injured man was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The identity of the dead man is unknown at this time. A revolver, four rounds of .38 ammunition and one spent shell were recovered at the scene.
