Assistant Commissioner of Police, Irwin Hackshaw, has been suspended.
The development comes on the heels of an announcement by the Police Complaints Authority, which has concluded its investigation into reports of suspicious financial activity by the ACP.
The PCA says the file with details of the concluded report has been sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
