Arsonist Arrested

Police have detained a man who allegedly painted anti-Covid-19 messages and 'resistance' graffiti, and set fire to a Government building in Port of Spain. Twenty seven year old Jean-Paul Cooper was arrested on Monday. He was expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate today. Cooper, of Turquoise Drive, Diamond Vale, Diego Martin, was charged with maliciously setting fire to the Ministry of Health's Head Office at the corner of Park and Edward Street, Port of Spain. At around 1:30 am on August 8th, a fire was maliciously set at the basement floor of the building. A man was seen fleeing the scene. When fire fighters and the police responded to the fire, they saw a message on one of the walls which read, "Covid-19 is all about the New World Order. Stop it now. #THE RESISTANCE."
