Jean Paul Cooper also known as the "the Resistance," has been granted bail in the sum of $200,000.
The 27 year old of Turquoise Drive, Diamond Vale, appeared before a Port of Spain Magistrate on Friday charged with maliciously starting a fire at the Ministry of Health at the corner of Park and Edward Street in Port of Spain on August 8th.
Cooper's Attorney made an application for his client to be sent to the psychiatric hospital for observation. However after questioning Cooper, the Magistrate said there was no need to send him to St. Ann's.
Cooper was granted bail of $200,000 with his father was approved as surety.
He will return to court on October 13th.
