Surviving COVID-19 and Lung Damage

There's a high possibility that persons who survive COVID-19, might be left with damage to their lungs. This according to Technical Advisor of Hospital Services, in the office of the Chief Medical Officer, Dr Anthony Parkinson. Dr Parkinson explained that persons afflicted with the virus can experience a condition called Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). He says while studies are still ongoing, with respect to life after COVID-19, he says the effects of ARDS should not be taken lightly. He says persons who experience symptoms of ARDS, may need to be seen by their doctors, especially if a person is interested in taking part in sporting activities.
