Prison Officer Gunned Down

Police are investigating the murder of a prison officer who was killed last night. Stephon Richardson, a 28 year old father of one child, was parking his car in front of a church, just two houses away from his home, when he was ambushed around 7pm. Richardson is said to have just stepped out of his vehicle when a car drove up to him and the occupants fired at him. The assailants drove off and escaped. Neighbours came out to see what was going on and found Richardson bleeding from his wounds. He died on the spot. Superintendent Gaffer said he had joined the Prison Service only six months ago.
