Illegal Immigrants To Be Repatriated To Venezuela

Thirty four Venezuelans, intercepted by police and Coast Guard officers in Cedros on Monday, are to be repatriated to Venezuela some time this week. The 19 men, 11 women and four children were trying to enter Trinidad and were held on board a 25-foot fishing pirogue by Coast Guard officers on border patrol at about 4:40pm. They were taken into custody and processed. The detainees are currently at the Cedros Coast Guard base. South Western Division police officers are thanking members of the public for their continued partnership in reporting suspected illegal immigrants and illicit activities to the police via the 555 hotline.
