THA Helps Sylphil Home in Love Orphanage

Secretary of Health, Wellness and Family Development in Tobago, Tracy Davidson-Celestine, has met with the Sylphil Home in Love Orphanage, to discuss how the Division can help the Home overcome its financial challenges. The Children's Home currently cares for 12 children, some of whom have written the SEA and CSEC exams. In fact, most of the home's staff are now working without salaries caring for the children currently housed at the Lambeau location. Secretary Davidson-Celestine, along with Assistant Secretary Nadine Stewart-Phillips and Administrator Cherryl-Ann Solomon met with the Home's management to discuss possible solutions. Ms. Davidson-Celestine says the Tobago House of Assembly has always been supportive of the privately-run facility and had presented it with a $300,000 Grant to assist with constructing a building a few years ago. During their visit Wednesday, the THA team presented the home with food items.
