Tourism Sector Preparing For Safe Reopening

The accreditation by the Airports Council International Airport Health Accreditation Programme of both Piarco and Crown Point is a boon for this country. Tourism Minister Randall Mitchell said this shows we have been recognised for the health and safety measures put in place for protection of travellers and users of the airport, from the spread of COVID-19. Minister Mitchell says this accreditation is in line with the Ministry of Tourism's preparation for this country's safe reopening. He says approximately 150 stakeholders were trained by CARPHA on how to obtain their Health Assurance Stamp. The stamp verifies that tourism entities and destinations are implementing and adhering to COVID-19 health monitoring and safety measures. Despite the hardship in 2020 Minister Randall believes stakeholders are now equipped to welcome visitors to destination Trinidad and Tobago once again.
